Four Corners Rally

Who is going to make the rally in the Durango, Colorado area this weekend? I have been looking at the flyers and wishing I could go! Of course, I think Durango ranks right below heaven anyway, so a bike rally there is a dream come true!

If there is anyone going, please send us a little run down of the experience. Maybe the rest of us can plan to go next year!

Ride safe until next time,

Bikes Blues and BBQ in Fayetteville

With fall rapidly approaching, I am again planning my trip to Fayetteville, Arkansas for the Bikes, Blues and BBQ rally. This will be my fourth year to attend and it promises to be a great time. With four days of great riding through some of the most scenic areas in the country, awesome free concerts as well as nationally known musicians, bike builders like Arlan Ness and Vodoo Choppers and, of course, the outstanding women of the region I think this rally is hard to beat.

It is billed as the largest charity based rally in the country and raises money to help numerous charities in northwest Arkansas. Admission is totally free. If you go on a budget like we do, this rally offers a real good time without having to spend a lot of money. Beside your food and drink, your only major expense is lodging. We opt to camp while at the rally not only because of the cost savings but also because unless you make hotel reservations 3 to 5 monthes in advance you will have a hard time finding a room under $150 a night. I recommend Cowpatty RV and Campground in West Fork.
It is only about eight miles south of the rally and provides a welcome escape from the crowds and noise of the rally. The hosts there provide a really nice bath house with CLEAN, HOT showers, plenty of shaded camping spots and offer breakfest and dinner at very reasonable prices. Last year they even provided live music and comedy on Saturday night. It's a nice easy going place with friendly bikers from all around the country to visit with. Check out the rally at BikesBluesandBBQ.org and look under 'Lodging' for Cowpatty campground.

Well, I hope to see you on the road and ride safe!
